About - MARTIN COHN

Writer / Performer

A native New Yorker, Martin Cohn is an actor, performer, maker and writer.

Growing up between Manhattan and various places in Europe was not conducive to making friends, so the movies and its stars became his world. After being accepted to the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU for acting, he left the program quickly, feeling that it was too rigid and creatively unchallenging. He found a place he liked in the openness of the T. Schreiber studio and studied there for two years.

His first starring role was in DESIRE IN NEW YORK by Ahmed Ziari, which was an official selection of the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose, California as well as the Lighthouse International Film Festival.

He currently has a number of projects in development and is writing a collection of short stories titled JUDY FUCKING GARLAND. His first book, a joint memoir, was written with Theo Adams and is titled WE’LL CALL YOU.
